This is the beginning of a journey for me. My aim is to make a single handed voyage in a sail boat across the Atlantic Ocean and not only that, but to race. This would push most able bodied people to their limits, y mucho menos a alguien con una discapacidad física como la mía. -Tengo la espina bífida, un defecto de la columna vertebral desde el nacimiento. Sin embargo, I am really fortunate because I am able to sail a yacht and sail single handed.
Navegando por el Atlántico, para mí será una primera y tengo la intención de hacer que toda la experiencia de principio a fin un momento muy especial de mi vida. Se trata de un reto que nunca me hubiera creído posible. Pero eso es lo que es la vida, vivir la vida al máximo, empujando a través de las fronteras, achieving great things and inspiring others to make the most of their potential.
No estoy a cambiar el mundo, I shall leave that to far more capable people than I. But should I succeed I hope that in my small way that I might be able to inspire and motivate others to do something far beyond what they thought themselves capable of. Everyone has a fire in their belly, un deseo de hacer algo fantástico con sus vidas, but it is up to us to do something about it. Something which I aim to do from this moment on. Obstacles are to be expected, but obstacles are there to be overcome.
Puedo decir honestamente que ya tengo el tiempo de mi vida. Yo soy un tipo de clase trabajadora con discapacidad de Bradford. Yet I sail the open sea, con sus estados de ánimo cambiantes. Es realmente la cosa más bella.
Espero que disfruten de mi blog y me siguen, como me tomo mi viaje de marinero de agua dulce al océano navegante. Doy la bienvenida a todos sus comentarios.
